W.O.W. stands for “With Ownership, Wealth.”
Because of the disproportionate ratio of minority homeowners to white homeowners, the original WOW initiative was created by the Congressional Black Caucus with a mission to create millions of new African-American homeowners. In 2002, President George W. Bush pledged to back the WOW initiative as a cornerstone of his “Ownership Society.”
Then the 2008 financial crisis hit and homeownership became a major casualty.
In the aftermath of the Great Recession, Pure Hearts R Us has been endorsed by one of the drafters of that original initiative, The Honorable Diane E. Watson, Congresswoman (ret.), who was a member of the Congressional Black Caucus at the time. Because of our programs, Ms. Watson regards us as an organization most fit to resurrect the initiative.
Homeownership is the heartbeat of the American economy. Now, with the worst of the housing crisis behind us, our new WOW, I’m Home! initiative is dedicated to SUSTAINABLE homeownership. We’ve designed all of our programs to make sure that our clients will never be surprised or uprooted by the whims of an out-of-control financial perfect storm ever again.
